Administrative Assistant / Bookkeeper Kalamazoo, MI $21.15 -
$23.00 per hour 20-40 hours per week | Flexible Schedule Our
client, a nonprofit organization in Kalamazoo, is seeking an
experienced Administrative Assistant / Bookkeeper to support the
Executive Director with bookkeeping, payroll, and grant reporting
tasks. This is a flexible, part-time to full-time opportunity
(20-40 hours per week depending on what you're seeking) in a
mission-driven environment focused on serving children, youth, and
their families. Key Responsibilities Bookkeeping & Payroll Manage
light-volume accounts payable/receivable Process journal entries
and attach receipts in QuickBooks Perform monthly bank and credit
card reconciliations Coordinate bi-weekly payroll for 28 employees
Communicate with childcare center directors to verify timesheets
Submit payroll tax deposits and associated reports Address payroll
issues as they arise (payroll may take up to half a day)
Administrative & Grant Support Pull and review reports for grant
tracking Categorize transactions appropriately in QuickBooks
Provide general administrative assistance to the Executive Director
Schedule Details 20-40 hours per week, depending on candidate
preference Flexible hours between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM (e.g., 8-4 or
9-5) Fewer hours may be scheduled in the first week while
onboarding Qualifications Required: Proficiency in QuickBooks (a
test may be administered) Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel,
and Outlook 3-5 years of administrative and/or bookkeeping
experience Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred: Experience with QuickBooks Online Prior experience in a
nonprofit or grant-funded organization Familiarity with grant
tracking or reporting
