Job Description:
SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEERThe Supplier Quality Engineer will plan
and conduct activities for the quality assurance of industrial
materials, services, processes, and products. This role will be
instrumental in driving quality materials throughout our supply
chain.It will also be a key position in our company's transition
from automotive after-market to Tier I and Tier II supplier.This
role will interact with suppliers, TAG engineering, TAG
manufacturing sites, cross-functional departments, and OEM
teams.Responsibilities: ---Works closely with Suppliers and
Customers ---Facilitates and Audits ISO/TS16949 and Customer
Specific requirements ---Supplier audits and scorecards
---Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to
corporate policies and goals ---Interprets quality philosophy to
key personnel in organization ---Develops and initiates standards
and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation ---Plans and
oversees the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration
to assure the quality of assigned product or component ---Performs
quality engineering reviews for design documentation for compliance
with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and
company quality records ---Applies statistical process control
(SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process
and process changes ---Documents data obtained during all quality
assurance activities, consistent with company policies and
procedures ---Communicates significant issues or developments
identified during quality assurance activities and provides
recommended process improvements to management ---Assists in new
material PPAP process. ---Prepares reports to communicate
involvement and results of quality assurance activities ---Prepares
and presents technical and program information to team members and
management ---Directs technical and administrative employees
engaged in quality assurance activities ---Maintains a working
knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and
standards ---Develops new approaches to solve problems identified
during quality activities ---Keeps management team abreast of
significant issues or developments identified during quality
activities and actions being taken to improve the situation
---Plays active role on quality management teams within
organization ---Designs and implements quality training programs to
key personnel in conjunction with managers ---Conducts 8-D root
cause investigations ---Investigates and resolves customer
complaints regarding supplier quality and manage corrective actions
using customer required methodologies/formats ---Other duties may
be assignedQualifications: ---Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a
four-year College or University and 3+ years of direct experience
or a minimum of 5 years quality engineering experience ---CQT/CQE
certification a plus ---ISO/TS16949 Auditor Training a plus ---Six
Sigma training a plus ---Must have OEM Assembly plant launch
experience for new program launches ---Familiar with DVP&R TEST
PLANS and validation process ---Working Knowledge of OEM
APQP/Prototype/PPAP requirements a plus ---Proven ability to work
with Customers and Suppliers in the fast paced automotive sector
---Working Knowledge of an Engineering Change Process ---OEM
Customer website knowledge a plus ---Outstanding interpersonal
communication skills (effective listening and interface with
customers) ---Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
---Ability to work in a team oriented environment ---Travel up to
