Engineer Job Description This position involves inspecting
equipment and processes to ensure they meet design and engineering
specifications and participating in the complete design and
execution of processes and fixtures used in manufacturing.
Responsibilities Establish best practices and implement standard
work. Inspect equipment and processes to ensure compliance with
specifications. Participate in the design and execution of
manufacturing processes and equipment. Construct and maintain
fixtures, templates, locators, and equipment used in manufacturing.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement. Analyze manufacturing
functions and suggest improvements for efficiency, quality, safety,
and cost. Provide programming assistance on manufacturing machines
and train employees. Review and investigate employee suggestions
for cost savings and process improvements. Act as a liaison between
design, engineering, and manufacturing. Coordinate manufacturing
abilities with engineering and product design requirements. Provide
training for the manufacturing process. Participate in sourcing
projects and reverse engineering. Comply with OSHA, EPA, local
regulatory laws, and company safety policies. Assist the Quality
department in identifying root cause preventive actions. Essential
Skills Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial
engineering, or industrial technology. Minimum of 2 years’
experience in a manufacturing setting. Experience with set-up,
support, manual assembly cells, and assembly cells. Proficiency in
SolidWorks. Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with scoping, creating ROIs, and onboarding new capital
equipment. Ability to read and understand piece part and welding
blueprints. Strong mathematical abilities and solid verbal and
written communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Lean manufacturing concepts. Familiarity with
Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with
discrete and process-based manufacturing environments. PLC
programming and industrial automation experience. Experience with
IoT product implementation. Experience with data automation and
analytical tools. Work Environment This role is fully onsite,
Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. The work environment includes
a warehouse/shipping/logistics setting, with offices located at the
front and the warehouse at the back. The position requires
interaction with the production floor, which is managed by a direct
and hands-on individual. The company is rapidly growing,
introducing more automation, and presents an opportunity to be part
of an innovative and expanding team. Job Type & Location This is a
Contract to Hire position based out of Woodridge, IL. Pay and
Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $48.07/hr.
