Job Description:
At Powell Industries, Inc., we are committed to being a leader

of our Engineering and Design department, we are looking for a
dedicated Applications Engineer in Corporate Estimating to join our
team in Houston, Texas. This role involves comprehensive management
and improvement of our estimating processes for custom-engineered
electrical systems and equipment. The successful candidate will
leverage their engineering expertise to play a crucial role in the
design and financial planning stages, aligning project scopes with
client requirements and organizational goals. Develop and maintain
the estimating procedures to enhance project success. Work closely
with engineering, sales, and project management teams to gather
necessary information to provide accurate estimates. Analyze
drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time,
cost, materials, and labor estimates. Assess cost effectiveness and
potential environmental impacts of engineering solutions and
equipment. Prepare detailed and summary reports for management
regarding key financial and engineering data from estimates.
Consult with industry experts to discuss estimates and resolve
issues. Participate in bid proposals and presentations to corporate
clients and stakeholders. Review and approve the technical aspects
of vendor bids and contracts. Strong analytical and mathematical
skills Proficient in CAD software and MS Office Knowledge of
electrical systems design and manufacturing Exceptional written and
verbal communication skills Strong project management abilities
Medical Insurance 401k Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or
equivalent is preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license is
advantageous.
