Job Responsibilities: The Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
Manager will provide leadership, coaching and support to evaluate,
identify, and reduce uncontrolled risk. This role will manage the
deployment of corporate standards in the local business
environment, modifying the requirements to fit the unique needs of
their assigned business while maintaining the integrity of control
methods. The Site EHS Manager must operate will serve as a
collaborative, empowering, and customer-focused partner for our
business leaders.
- Provide safety/health and environmental expertise to plant
staff, including consulting with and providing guidance to the
Plant Manager and management team.
- Lead the development and implementation of EHS programs.
- Provide leadership and strong support for internal safety
resources to ensure collaboration and sharing of best practices on
safety policies, programs, and procedures.
- Drive prevention and risk reduction programs to improve safety
and health programs, policies, and procedures, providing training
and awareness of industry practices.
- Assist by managing a risk reduction plan to meet or exceed
commitments.
- Perform plant and program audits to ensure regulatory
compliance and partner with leadership and engineering teams to
provide reduced employee exposure to hazards.
- Coach employees to recognize hazards.
- Coach and mentor leaders on techniques and tools to transform
culture of Zero Harm.
- Prepare submittals and ensure compliance with existing
environmental and safety permits and programs (NPDES Storm Water,
Tier II, SARA Title III, Facility Air permit, SPCC, Hazardous Waste
Manifesting, etc.) as applicable.Requirements:
- Bachelors in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental
Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or other closely related degree
required.
- CSP, ASP, GSP, CHMM, CIH or other industry related
certifications a major plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing EHS programs at
manufacturing locations, or an equivalent number of years managing
manufacturing processes (to be developed in safety/environment as
part of development plan in coordination with Enterprise EHS
leadership).
- Self-starter with high integrity and a bias towards
action.
- Strong collaborator with a proven ability to influence and gain
alignment at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a positive,
successful, and engaged culture.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to
influence and motivate teams.
- Ability to exercise strong judgement to balance business needs
and achieve objectives.
- Able to facilitate, organize and manage multiple concurrent
priorities and projects.
- Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
- Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
