We serve more than 1,200 individuals each year through more than a dozen programs, ranging from music therapy for children to supervised group living for adults.The Position:The Community Employment program is a crucial part of ADEC's mission as we assist those in the IDD population lead a life of their own, full of choice and possibility. For many, satisfying employment is a key part of living the life they choose. The Community Employment Manager provides guidance to the Community Employment Department, develops business and community relationships to foster employment opportunities, strives for quality service and continuous improvement, and contributes to ADEC's overall vision and mission.Job Responsibilities:

  • Innovate initiatives to grow and expand working relationships with area businesses, Vocational Rehabilitation Office (VR), BDDS, and community to promote vocational and training opportunities for ADEC clients. This includes schools as they develop post graduation path for students.
  • Fulfill regulations, policies/procedures of accrediting agencies, VR, local and federal agencies, including ADEC policies/procedures. This includes ensuring VR funding and rate structures are followed.
  • Advocate for client needs and desires as assigned program manager for clients in the Community Employment program, tracking and reporting on caseloads for Community Employment Consultants. Collaborate with Community Employment and partnering agencies to reflect client wants and needs in their PCISP.
  • Lead the Community Employment team, including providing training and professional development, creating ways to provide quality service, managing performance related measures and concerns, aid in hiring and termination of employment of team members, approving Solana and MITC entries, and ensuring all employment and training requirements are met.
  • Assess results of service through monthly reporting, including successfully meeting established Performance Measurements. Initiate corrective measures to improve areas of improvement.
  • Provide billing services, to comprise of 50% of time, to help meet client needs and maintain working knowledge of community employment processes/procedures. Approve billing, complete BINS, and ensure effective staff utilization.
  • Develop Community Employment budget, and Performance Measurements. Monitor successful completion of goals and create new avenues of business to grow revenue.Job Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree and significant experience with IDD population required.
    • Exhibit strong leadership skills, including driving program development initiatives, demonstrating problem solving and decision-making skills, fostering and encouraging staff development, and setting the example of expected work ethic, professionalism and behavior.
