Southwood Interventions, 5701 S. Wood St., Chicago, IL 60636 As a

JOB SUMMARY In this role, you will provide group and individual
counseling, community support, case coordination and crisis
intervention services to clients with a primary substance use
disorder diagnosis. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Complete assessment of each client Initiate and sustain each
individual’s motivation to participate in treatment. Develop a
comprehensive service plan for each client. Provide daily treatment
and curriculum-based education groups. In Summary: In conjunction
with supervisor and treatment team, you will provide chemical
dependency counseling services to patients and their
families/collaterals through assessment and design, implementation,
and revision of treatment plan. Minimum Education & License /
Credential Requirements High school diploma or GED and twenty-four
(24) credit hours of college education or accredited training
program in substance abuse counseling and/or other human services
area. Higher education given preference. OR Certificate in
Addictions (CADC) or clinical licensure in IL as LPC or LSW Any new
professional staff who do not have an IAODAPCA CADC or above
certification when hired or first moved into this position must:
Obtain an IAODAPCA CADC or above certification (LSW or LPC) within
two years after the date of employment; and Other Hiring
Requirements Ability to promote positive behavior and manage
resistant behavior. Physical ability to safely and effectively
manage aggressive behavior. Assertiveness, confidence and
leadership abilities. Effective oral and written communication
skills. Effective time management skills. Must have and maintain a
valid driver’s license. At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Criminal clearances (State & child clearances and, if necessary,
FBI). Drug screen. TB Test. Ability to work with computers and the
