Job Description:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the
inspection, decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and
distribution of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and
supplies in accordance with established policies and standards,
including those set by the Association for the Advancement of
Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). This position plays a key role in
patient safety and infection prevention by ensuring that all
instruments and equipment are sterile and functional. The
technician also serves as a resource and role model for peers and
collaborates closely with other members of the healthcare team.
