Description: The position is in a Progressive Care Unit. Shift is
3x12 nights (1900-0730). There is no call requirement. Every other
weekend work is required. Holiday requirement is 1 holiday per
contract. Travelers may need to float to other step-down or medical
units as needed. Travelers are permitted to call off twice per
assignment. Years of experience required is 1 year. First-timers
are accepted. Pending licenses are accepted, but must be active by
the start date. Tele and infusion experience is required. Type of
Facility: Short Term Acute Care. Total Staffed Beds: 244. Scrub
Color: Royal. Charting System: Cerner. Patient Age Groups: Adults.
Daily Census: 28 patients. Patient Ratios Nights: 5. Patient Ratios
Weekends: 1:4. Interdisciplinary Support includes IV Teams,
Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services,
Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams,
Pharmacy, and Transportation. The unit cares for patients with
various cardiac conditions, including post-cardiothoracic surgery,
heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and post-operative care for
AICDs and Pacemakers. Experience with cardiac medications and
infusions is required. Applicants must be able to interpret cardiac
rhythms. Travelers need to complete up to 8 hours of modules within
1 week of signing. Modules are completed pre-start and are
self-reported. Beacon assignments require understanding of conduct
expectations.
