Join our healthcare team and make a difference in patient care while exploring Elkhart!\n \n\nKey Job Details – Medical Surgical RN\n \n Location: Elkhart, IN 46514 (Indiana nursing jobs)\n Assignment Type: Travel RN contract\n Unit: Medical Surgical (Med/Surg)\n Shift: 3x12 Hour Days (07:00 - 19:00)\n Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week\n Duration: 9 weeks (Start: 11/24/2025 – End: 1/26/2026)\n Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend\n Holiday Requirement: 1 holiday per contract\n Floating: May float to other level 3 medical floors or affiliate hospitals\n Charting System: Cerner\n Scrub Color: Royal Blue\n Orientation: 24 hours\n Estimated Weekly Salary: $1770 - $1820\n \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state; pending accepted, must be active by start)\n Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience (first-time travel nurses welcome)\n BLS and NIHSS certifications required\n Preferred certifications: ACLS, CPI, ONC, PALS\n Cerner charting experience preferred\n Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)\n COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)\n Ability to complete up to 8 hours of pre-start modules\n \n\nMed/Surg RN Responsibilities\n \n Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical and post-surgical diagnoses\n Manage patient ratios of 1:5 – 1:6 in the Medical Surgical Unit\n Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and document care using Cerner EMR\n Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, physical therapy, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services\n Float to other medical floors or affiliate hospitals as needed\n Provide patient education, discharge planning, and comfort care/hospice support\n Operate specialized equipment such as ceiling lifts, IV pumps, feeding pumps, and PCA devices\n Maintain professional conduct and adhere to attendance expectations\n \n\n \n Discover the benefits of travel nursing jobs in Indiana and experience the supportive environment of Elkhart healthcare.
