involves providing nursing care in Labor and Delivery. The shift
schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Every
other weekend shift is required, totaling 2 weekends per month.
There is a maximum of 5 days request time off with no more than 2
consecutive days. No requests for time off during holidays.
Requests for time off the day before or after a holiday are not
permitted. The facility is a mandatory float facility, requiring
floating based on facility needs. All resources are expected to
float within their scope as determined by the facility. Experience
with high-risk antepartum and triage of obstetrical patients is
required. Candidates should be skilled in the use of intrauterine
pressure catheter placement and calibration. The role includes
maintaining central lines and administering medications such as
antihypertensives and magnesium sulfate therapy. Candidates will
assist with high-risk deliveries and circulate for C-sections.
Candidate responsibilities also include performing sterile vaginal
exams and adhering to isolation precautions and PPE protocols. A
supportive environment with interdisciplinary support is expected.
The unit has a daily birth volume of approximately 200-300.
Floating to various units may occur if necessary, including outside
of primary competency. Candidates must be responsive and ensure
compliance with all requirements. Lab work must be completed within
72 hours of accepting the assignment. Modules must be completed
prior to the start of the assignment and will take an average of 4
hours. All required certifications must be current and available.
Vaccinations are required, with proof needed prior to the start
date. All returning resources must go through full recredentialing.
