SCHOOLS Job Description JOB TITLE: Payroll Coordinator PAY CLASS:
Classified Hourly - Class IV REPORTS TO: Corporation Treasurer and
Accounting Supervisor EVALUATION: Annual TERM: ? 12-months/annual
FLSA: ? Non-Exempt POSITION PURPOSE: Performs all activities
necessary to process payroll. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this
job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential function satisfactorily. Maintain payroll information by
collecting, calculating, and entering data. Keep payroll records
updated by verifying new hires, changes in exemptions, insurance
coverage, savings deductions, job titles, department transfers,
maintenance of budget account numbers per employee, etc. Prepare
reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions,
leaves, disability, and nontaxable wages. Manage workflow to ensure
all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
Reconcile and balance payroll prior to transmission and validate
confirmed reports. Understand and enter proper taxation of employer
paid benefits. Respond to and process garnishments, unemployment
requests, and financial verification of employments. Execute all
time and attendance processes and interfaces with payroll.
Reconcile, balance, and process payments for all payroll
liabilities/benefits. Reconcile and process Federal, State, and
Local tax payments for each payroll. Process monthly census
reporting and other various payroll reports/requests throughout
year. Process UC-1 and 941 quarterly reporting. Process multiple
worksite reports quarterly. Process accurate and timely year-end
reporting, such as W-2, W-2c, etc. Calculate and process teacher
and administrative contracts. Update extra duties payroll entries
for certified staff upon receipt from HR. Maintain and assist
employees with payroll Doculivery Pay Stubs. Maintain, reconcile,
and process Affordable Care Act reporting in accordance with
federal regulations. Maintain files and documentation thoroughly
and accurately, in accordance with corporation policies and
accepted accounting practices. Acquire continual professional
development to maintain compliance with State and Federal
requirements in all areas of Payroll. Serve as backup for Deputy
Treasurer as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the
Corporation Treasurer and/or Accounting Supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate's Degree or equivalent Accounting experience. 2.
Ability to effectively present oral and written information and
respond to questions from administrators, teachers, school staff,
and patrons. 3. Ability to calculate simple math equations. 4.
Experience in Microsoft Office, especially spreadsheets. 5. Ability
to plan and organize and demonstrate good work and ethical habits.
