Position Title: Payroll SpecialistReports To:Director,

UnitChurch World Service (CWS) is a not-for-profit organization

provision of services.Primary Purpose:The payroll specialist will
be responsible for tasks involved in processing, reporting, and
tracking payroll. The position has a range of duties that include
reviewing timesheets, calculating wages, and ensuring that
employees receive their pay in a timely manner.Essential
Duties:Reviews and verifies timesheets.Enters employee information
and payroll data into the system.Maintains accurate records of
payroll payments made to employees.Keeps track of pay periods,
hourly wages, salaries, overtime, sick days, vacation days, and
other pay as needed.Calculates payable hours, deductions, taxes,
bonuses, and other payroll related matters.Utilizes the payroll and
HRIS systems for data entry and accounts management.Processes new
employees, promotions, and terminations.Liaises with the HR staff
to ensure accurate information for payroll.Files staff payroll
records, relevant reports, and other documents.Investigates and
resolves payroll discrepancies.Maintains confidence of all payroll
and other records and information.Prepares periodic payroll
reports.Assists with Payroll bank reconciliation.Completes
applications for new state and local tax accounts. Monitor tax
payments processed by payroll provider.Assists the benefits
administrator as needed.Performs other duties as
assigned.Qualifications:Education:High school diploma/GEDAssociate
Degree in related field or administrative technology certificate
preferred.Experience:Previous experience in a payroll
department.Highly proficient in computer skills and
technology.Knowledge of payroll software.Accurate and meticulous in
data entry.Strong attention to detail.Good organizational and
time-management skills.Good math and communication skills.Strong
clerical, administrative, and general office skills.Good
organizational and time-management skills.Team player.CWS' U.S.
