trenching cable, conventional and directional boring, placing
underground conduit systems, performing inside wiring and cabling,
and testing and maintenance services.Headquartered in Englewood,

other utility customers throughout the United States. TCS' has
extensive management experience and is ready to provide the quality
service that customers expect, as well as expand to meet the needs
of utility owners, educational institutions, and governmental
communities as they move to build fiber networks, broadband systems
and other applications.Overview:Fiber Splicer will performs tasks
associated with the construction/upgrade of fiber systems. A
In-house Fiber Splicer is responsible for terminating, splicing,
bonding/grounding, documenting, and testing fiber optic cables
within the systems networks and their related equipment resulting
in maximum operating efficiency. ***Candidates with 12 months of
verifiable utility construction experience are eligible for $2500
Gross Hiring Bonus, for applications received between April 1, 2022
and May 31, 2022 job offer date and start employment by June 30,
2022.***Responsibilities:Performs tasks associated with the
electronic upgrade and splicing of cable.Maintain proper inventory
on vehicle based on work assignment.Reconcile all issued parts and
materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage
counts.Maintain equipment according to design
specifications.Install/repair fiber lines in trenches and/or
pedestals using various hand tools.Test, activate, and troubleshoot
equipment after installation.Basic daily maintenance of provided
vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicle.Complete daily
production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours,
complete "as-built maps" for areas built and track daily
productionSelf-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing
operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry
specifications.Safely operate and use bucket truck to complete
daily construction assignments as needed (potentially climb
poles)Field train and control/oversee the work of other Splicers
when necessary.Frequently work independentlyOther splicing related
duties as assignedQualifications:Must be able to pass a
pre-employment drug screen and background check.Possess a valid
driver's license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required
license for the position.A good driving record is required.Minimum
two (2) years previous experience or training.Must have previous
experience spicing fiber optic and/or copper cable.Must have
knowledge of telecommunications network structure.Must be a valid
driver's license (CDL Class "A" preferred).Must have a high school
diploma or equivalent.Must be able to read and build from
blueprints and/or wire diagrams.Must be able to work nights and
weekends, if necessary.Ability to operate technical equipment,
including but not limited to computer, OTDR and fusion splicing
equipment.Ability to lift and manipulate splice enclosures and
other plant and equipment.Ability to communicate professionally
with co-workers, homeowners, and customers.Ability to work both
individually and in a team environment.Ability to distinguish
colors.Preferred Qualifications:Certified pole climber or capable
of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber preferred.A valid
driver's license (CDL Class "A" preferred).Previous experience
splicing fiber optic and/or copper cable.Physical Requirements:Must
be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. as
needed with or without assistanceMust be able to work in all
weather conditions. Safety Requirements:Follow all safety rules at
all times.Shall not engage in unsafe acts.Expected to attend and
participate in all safety meetings and training.Use all prescribed
safety equipment that is required to safety to do the job at
hand.Shall report unsafe acts or conditions to his immediate
