Compensation
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $160,300.00 to $267,100.00.

  Position Details:
  We're seeking a Principal Software Architect to lead the design of modular business capabilities within a complex enterprise ecosystem. The ideal candidate is fluent in product thinking, platform architecture, and building scalable systems. Reporting to the Director of Architecture, Product Information Management, and Product Discovery, and working closely with Product and Engineering leaders, this role is based in Chicago with a hybrid work model. Remote candidates willing to travel will also be considered.
  You Will:
  
  • 
    
  • Architect and evolve core capabilities for Product Information Management and Product Discovery.
    
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to define, prototype, and iterate on services that deliver measurable outcomes.
    
  • Design flexible, discoverable, and interoperable services across the enterprise.
    
  • Provide guidance on data modeling, API design, service boundaries, and platform strategy.
    
  • Influence engineering practices, promote reuse, and mentor senior engineers.
    
  • Ensure interoperability with other domains like supply chain, customer experience, and merchandising.
    
    You Have:

    • Ability to operate effectively in a product-centric culture.
      
    • Proven experience designing and scaling modular software capabilities.
      
    • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture patterns such as domain-driven design, microservices, and event-based systems.
      
    • Excellent collaboration skills across product, data, and engineering teams.
      
    • Effective communication with all organizational levels.
      
    • 12+ years in software development, with 3+ years in a senior or architectural leadership role.
