Technician performs product testing through metallurgical,
dimensional, and mechanical characterization of materials,
components, and systems. Specific duties include:
- Sets-up and
operates test stands and equipment including but not limited to
Fatigue Test Machines, Inertia Dynamometer, and Coordinate
microscopic examinations of metals and alloys to determine their
structure, porosity, grain size, the presence of decarb, heat
affected zone (HAZ) and other characteristics.

internal fractures, impurities, and similar defects in
- Tests samples
in pressure device, hot-acid baths, environmental chamber,
spectrometer, salt spray tester, Rockwell and micro-hardness tester
and other apparatus to determine strength, hardness, chemistry,
elasticity, toughness, or other properties of metal.
- Confers with
engineering personnel to resolve fabrication problems relating to
specifications and to review test plans.

of manufactured products to verify conformity to

graphs and charts.

Lab Tech position requires an Associate’s Degree in
Engineering Technology or a comparable discipline and two (2)
years’ experience in performing same or similar job function; or an
equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with
trailer repair/maintenance, Microsoft Word and Excel required.
Metallography experience a plus. The ideal candidate will be a
team player, innovative, self-motivated, punctual, and possess
strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
