Job Description:
JOB SUMMARYReports to Manager, Clinical Engineering. Under
general supervision performs repairs, preventive maintenance,
quality assurance and calibration on a wide variety of biomedical
equipment and associated electrical and mechanical systems, in
accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and other
regulatory agencies such as AAMI and NFPA and other appropriate

SPECIFICATIONSEducation and ExperienceThe knowledge, skills, and
abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the
successful completion of Some College or Vocational Training. A
valid State issued Driver's License is required. A minimum of 2 to
5 years of job-related experience is required. The ideal candidate
should have previous experience as a Biomedical Equipment
Technician (BMET) performing repairs, PM, calibrations, safety
checks, and documenting all tasks on medical equipment in a
hospital setting.Knowledge & SkillsCompetent using common computer
applications such as Windows, Microsoft Office applications, and
some experience using a computerized maintenance management system
(CMMS).A thorough understanding of electronic, electromagnetic,
pneumatic and mechanical principles as they apply to clinical
devices.Must possess the ability to trouble-shoot and solve
problems in a clinical environment.Must be capable of utilizing
sophisticated testing, metering and calibrating instruments and
equipment.Required to have the ability to communicate with
technical and non-technical persons.Working ConditionsStress due to
working in critical situations with patients and/or
equipment.Occasional danger or hazard from working near or with
high voltage 40-80% of work time.Risks present from working in
close proximity to radiation and infectious/hazardous
materials.Physical DemandsFrequent lifting of devices weighing up
to 80 pounds.Bending, stooping, walking or standing in order to
maintain, repair and inspect devices.Work may require awkward or
strained positions when lifting and handling devices.Location:
